Swedish massage
Releaves, Relaxes ans Revitalizes the Body
Massage therapy is well known for its healing effects on human body, both physically and mentally. At Physioathens Modern Physiotherapy Centre, we offer one of the most popular and effective type of massage, the Relaxing Massage, also known as Swedish massage.
As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart.
But massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood and decreasing muscle toxins. It also improves circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Massage is addressed to everyone, not just athletes. Bad posture, working full-time, sedentary lifestyle, high-stress levels, living a fast-paced life wear the body out and have a negative effect on our mood.
Massage therapy provides overall body wellness. It supports the acceleration of the body’s natural healing process by working on muscles, ligaments, joints and nerve tissue.
Note, that using special massage techniques and applying the proper amount of pressure is of the essence.
Swedish massage, aims at muscles' relaxation. It focuses on the parts of the body that are responsible for releasing tension and relieving pain.
The positive effects of massage therapy are most obvious. Thus we have included relaxation massage sessions as an integral part of the centre’s program.
